I am in the midst of writing a collection of thoughts from people about what they thought as a child. I would love to hear yours! For example:
“I thought that when you moved into a new house, the people that used to live there moved into your old house.”

When I was a kid, I was absolutely positive that all my toys and possessions came to life and had a big party the second I went to sleep, and then when I woke up everything would immediately return to its rightful place.

When I was a kid…they said that Jesus lived in you. So I always pictured Jesus in my stomach sitting at a desk with lots of papers on it. Then when I drank something it would pour down on his desk and the papers would go all over and he would have to clean it up.

I used to think that people lived in the radio. So, when you turned it on they would begin to play songs and or talk (ex. give the news or traffic report.) I always wondered how they lived in there and how they survived and how they got in and stayed in the radio. But I guess I just figured it was magic.

I actually believed my parents when they told me that if you ate watermelon seeds a watermelon would grow in your stomach. I accidentally swallowed some seeds one time and wondered how big the watermelon would grow and how would it come out. I was pretty worried. Then I forgot all about it and lived happily ever after.
To this day, when I swallow a watermelon seed I always think about believing that silly story!!

When I was a kid, I believed all people got Christmas trees on their bday (my bady was christmas day)
I thought I could breath under water and that I could talk to animals, the latter not smart I know..lol
I thought that if I closed my eyes really tight while watching tv,I would somehow be transported into the telly and be part of all the action!
I thought that when food entered the blood stream, it splashed.

I thought french kissing was something people only did in France until I was in the 8th grade.
Does that count or is it too lame to be considered a thought? I’m embarrassed to admit that it’s true.

When I was a kid, I thought cats were girls and dogs were boys. I also thought Big Bird was a girl?
I thought the only thing that made pee was drinking something and the only thing that made poo was eating something.

I honestly thought I controlled other people’s thoughts and actions. Took a while to come out of that one. I’m okay now..

I honestly don’t know why I’m having so much trouble with this? I can’t remember anything I used to think. Too much repetitive head injuries.
I thought that if you laid down while kissing you would get pregnant. I didn’t understand how your body knew if you were laying down or not…
To add to my own collection, my 8 year old son just told me a thought he had “when he was a kid”.
“When I first heard on the radio traffic report about an accident on the highway, I thought they meant someone wet their pants.” Big A, age 4
